Oh man, I probably shouldn't say this... but it just happens that last night my sister showed me a video of a hippo pooping. It was crazy town and I'm afraid that it has squashed out any other hippo related information that my brain used to hold. I'm going to read the other comments and see if they can save my brain.
well, that's just hilarious.

Winner #3

I can't pass up a hippo pattern, especially not one with buttons!

I don't think I've ever seen a real one, but I have super fond memories of the Canadian "house hippo" PSA commercials! (Here is the link to watch it on youtube:
I loved that commercial, the hippo yawning, and the best line: "they make their nests in closets, using lost mittens, dryer lint and bits of string" my love of the hippo started with that commercial.

I wanted/tried to reply to the questions in the comments, but once the comments closed, I couldn't :( so I'll tell ya here.
Thank you Cyrille - you can find me over at Craftsy too - 529MasonStreet :) There is SO much fun stuff over there to take up all the hours of my evening!

As for the name of my blog Salamanda's Scrappy Adventures, I am a former Highland Dancer, and highland ghillies are what the dance shoes are called...was still dancing when I started this blog...and danced up til I had my 1st 3.5 years ago...maybe I should start up again...!
Thank you all for the sweet things you said about my hippo :) and thanks AJ for the kind words about my photography :)

Thanks again to ALL who took the time to come, and enter!! I wish I could give you all one!!
I look forward to checking out all your blogs too (if you have one that is)

All the best to you in 2012.
I hope you find peace and prosperity.

Our 2011 was full of ups and downs (as is everyones) but in the end, we have and love each other.
We've moved and made new friends.
Life changes, and we change too along with it.
My resolutions aren't huge, but they are hard...
letting go of the people/things are not right for me, and making choices that will help me become the person and mom I want to be.
