Merry Christmas

I did it! I mostly made gifts for christmas this year. marmalade, cookies, handmade amigurumi dolls & framed photos.
~
I've recently discovered TtV. a type of photography that I am totally enamoured with, it combines old cameras with new digital technology.
Alicia Bock has beautiful work. The first TtV photo I saw belongs to her. She has excellent info and links in her blog. The snowman is my 1st attempt. I didn't crop him into the 'traditional' square of Ttv technique (as I used him for christmas cards)
I used my sony DCS F717 and an old Ricohflex tlr that I have (it takes 120 flim, but I've never used it. I have a Yaschica 12 tlr for that - what can I say? a girl needs a light meter)
2nd photo: also used for christmas cards, handmade dicken's village (complete with quilled snowman) I cleaned some of the dust off the lens and viewfinder before taking the photo. you can see what they looked like before the crop here.

Button Love

after having NO CAMERA for 3 weeks, it's finally fixed and back in my grubby hands! in time for Christmas too, thankfully.
MIL and I got some buttons recently (a while ago?) and I picked up a bag of mixed buttons... and I love them.

Here are my Christmas goodies - all in various stages of development! - for the little gals, an amigurumi monkey, amigurumi cat, a little lamb, scotty dogs, and hand warmers (similar to these)...
I'm doing pretty good I think... not too many more things to do (if you don't include baking and cleaning!)

I finished Baby C's quilt intime for her baptism. my camera was dead by the time I finished it, so I will get a proper picture of it soon. it's all together here, but not batting, or backing and binding.

Christmas & Christening

so, for craft night we made cute little button tree pillows. very easy. just felt buttons and sewing. a blanket stitch for the edging..done! I think I will have to make a few for simple chistmas gifts.

My niece's baptisim is in a few weeks! being her god mother, I am making her a special little gift. a quilt. I love all the fabric I have picked out, some from my stash, and some that is new....I've decided against the bluish tartan, and am going to go ahead with some pinkish fabric that I have instead...

Candy Apples and Christmas

Ok, so I am behind.... this is what we did for Halloween... now I didn't actually make any, these are Laura's... they look so good. I can say that the caramel, and all the candy used was very very good! I made cookies, witches cookies with skor bits. de-lish!

I was out to see my beloved, was so good to just be near him, I miss him so much. we went to a wonderful little spot
on Vancouver Island, it was very hard to leave.

I've finally finished with Glen's cd. (I hope) there were some small changes that had to be done, but nothing major.

I am gearing up for Christmas, I've rinsed all my cookie cutters getting ready, and have re arranged my sewing area. I am serious about giving very few "store bought" gifts this year. It feels like I've remembered something important. I've been listening to Christmas music all day, and have even found a radio station that is playing it already!

Stuff

Ok, loads of stuff going on right now....
first of all..Congratulations to Sonya and Steve, they have just announced their engagement...tentative date set for fall 2007! yay!

after many (MANY) hours...
I am finally (finally!) finished the
dvd of our trip to Ireland....
10 days of Ireland took (easily) 40 hours to make a 35 min dvd.... the only thing left is rendering it (in progress) then burning the dvds

I am just about finished up with Glen's piping CD...
just have a bit more to do to the artwork,
then I can courier it away to where they make the rest
of the magic happen....
since this is my first graphic design project, I can't
wait to see the final product!

now, I just have to get my wedding photo dvd going, and I will be all set!

Thanksgiving....?

Ok, OK! I know thanksgiving has come and gone...BUT...new hubby's mom and I carved THE cutest little pumpkins for place settings and I wanted to post a pic of it... voila! anyway with Halloween not far off, I thought it might be nice to have some pun'kins here. BOO!

yesterday and today was spent with my beloved's dad... installing a car stereo in my car.. I had a really good time, it was really nice to be able to have that chance to spend the time with him. :)
it's good to have something to listen to in the car besides myself singing...I've discovered I am really really bad... lol

Willyboy Recordings...

well, the recording session is 'in the bag', the photo shoot is done....
nothing left to do but finish the artwork, then Glen's piping cd will be in production.

Everything said and (almost) done, I think it went really well, a couple of blizzards.

(blizzards in october?? seriously, isn't that a bit much?) a couple late nights, and we're all still friends at the end. perfect.

Where did summer go?

well, the summer is over, my wedding has come and gone...

it's time to start thinking about halloween, and craft night, and christmas presents! this year....I am going to make everyone's gifts...I can say that now because it's mid October, and I have lot's of time...but don't mention this to me when you see me at the mall 2 days before Christmas trying to find that perfect gift.
